I cant tell you how many times that this tool has come in handy for 12 volt applications. I use this tool exclusively as a hobby and I will review it as such. I can strip wire as thin as 26AWG and I have gone up to wire as high as 10 awg (albeit a bit tough). I have even been able to strip both the outer sheath of a wire along with the inner wire sheath in one pass. The self adjusting mechanism really goes along way to being able to speed strip wires. The biggest test that I did on this wire stripper was to cut off all the connecters of a computer power supply and then strip the ends of the computer power supply. I had no problem getting rid of the 24 pin connector or any of the 3 volt, 5 volt or 12 volt connectors. I did (for some reason) have a bit of trouble taking off the SATA connector and the video card connector with the built in wire cutter. Oh well. Not a big loss. The true test came when trying to stuff as many wires into the self adjusting part. For the most part, I could stick 5 wires into the self adjusting part of the stripper and strip all of them in one pass. I could fit 6 but the 6th wire would not come out cleanly stripped. I have not used any of the crimping teeth as I solder all of my electrical connections and then heat shrink them.; Comments(0)

These auto wire strippers are a good idea. This will eliminate the guess work out of wire stripping so you can achieve the proper amount of wire stripped each and every time. This pair has an adjustment on it so you can set how mouch it strips off the wire. On the handle is also a wire cutter and squeeze points that can be used to squeeze onto the stripped wire different size and type of connectors or ends. So this tool is handy in many aspects not just one. These will be great for automotive electronic work as you usually have to strip the wire and put on a connector or end to be able to splice into a wire or plug it into something. These will help to make tedious tasks much more easily accomplished without frustration i feel. I put these to the test already as i needed to fix some wiring on my camper. Some wires were loose and rubbed against some metal and luckily only popped a fused. I actually cut the wires and crimped on a couple connectors and some longer wire so i could reroute the wiring to a better location. These made it so easy to cut,strip and crimp on the connectors all with one tool. I like how these take the guess work out of stripping the wire and sometimes when i use another thing to strip wires it will actually just cut the wire and then it can end up short. I will be honest, I know nothing about what most tools are or what they are for, but my husband was really glad when I surprised him with this. He has already been using these on pieces of wire that were just lying around in his tool building. My husband loves to do all the handyman work around the house unless it's something a professional has to do. These will definitely help him to do that. Not only does this strip what ever piece of wire you are stripping but according to my husband they strip the wire no matter what side you put the wire in. These are really easy to use, the handle fits in your hand very comfy and they are easy to squeeze. My husband used this one normal house wire and they stripped the wire with no problem or resistance. These are very well made with great quality parts. For the quality of these you would expect a much higher price. I would definitely recommend these to any one that likes to do home repairs them self or any one that may be adding on to their home or building a new building.
